These Recall Training Training sessions are open to dogs of all ages. There is the option to book onto the weekday course, or the weekend course. Please note: you may only attend one session per week. For example, if you book on the weekday course, you attend the day courses for the rest of the five weeks.
Amy is our on-site trainer and dog wellbeing expert from R Dog who runs the classes. A big part of keeping your dog safe when outside is teaching them to return to you when you need them to. As much as your dogs love having a good run off their leads, it’s essential that you’re confident they’ll always come back when you call, no matter what is going on around them!
Before you let your pooch loose, teach your dog that when they come back to you it is a good thing and will result in some lovin’, a fuss, a tasty snack, or whatever reward they like the best. When you let your dog off their lead, a whole world of choice opens up to them. Your dog could decide that chasing a leaf or playing with another dog is more exciting than coming back to you. They could even be unsure that you want them to return to you if the area you’re in is noisy and crowded.
- This class will cover everything you need to know to keep yourself and your pooches safe when outside, giving you complete control and keeping you both a little safer
- Teaching your dog to respond to its name
- Understanding the best way to add rewards into your recall training
-
Adding distraction into recall training to put your pooches to the test
